Alkaline Diet



The alkaline diet is the power supply system at which in the ration predominate fruits and vegetables and almost no animal products. In addition to the high content of vitamins, minerals and other trace elements, fruits and vegetables have some positive property. They create an alkaline environment in the body, which greatly strengthens bone tissue, since the acid leaches calcium from bones, and the alkali neutralizes its effect.

The alkaline diet is designed to cleanse and restore. The diet is based on fruits and vegetables that need to eat fresh, without heat treatment. But moving to such ration should be gradual, without a sharp jump. You can stick such a diet up to four weeks. 

List of Alkaline Foods

Fruits: Apples, grapefruit, raisins, bananas, dried dates, dried apricots, nectarines, oranges, pineapple, black currant, cranberries, watermelon, cantaloupe. It is worth noting that in various books listed different fruits, many fruits are the same, but some discrepancies are present. For example, some sources include pomegranates, strawberries, cranberries, plums and prunes to sour fruits.

Vegetables: broccoli, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, eggplant, mushrooms, squash or zucchini, turnips. Some nutritionists consider the most alkaline vegetables are the beet haulm, chard leaf or beet, dandelion stalks and baked potatoes.

The exceptions are corn, asparagus, Brussels sprouts.

Meat products. You can eat any lean meat – veal, lamb, beef. Eat meat is very mild. Control your cholesterol. Duck and goose are very high in fat and cholesterol, they should be avoided especially those who have a excess cholesterol.

Other alkaline products: millet, buckwheat, germinated beans, olive oil, almonds, honey, chestnut, cream, ice cream and jam.

The basic rules of alkaline dieting

  • Eat vegetables raw or cooked in the form of salads and other dishes.
  • During the alkaline diet need to consume up to 80% alkaline foods and 20% acidic.
  • Eat cereals no more than 3 times a week.
  • Eat fish no more than 2-3 times a week.
  • For breakfast, preferably to eat 1 yellow and 1 green vegetable.
  • During the diet you can eat fresh not dried nuts and seeds, green beans and peas, which are rich in vegetable proteins.
  • When cooking, you can use olive, sunflower, soybean and peanut butter without any chemical additives.
  • Eating meat should be very moderate. Choose lean beef, veal and mutton, and from a bird – chicken and turkey.
  • Do not eat after 18-19 hours and do not drink after eating nothing except herbal tea.
  • Between meals, drink water, fruit juices and herbal teas.
Pros
This diet is easy to observe, especially those who have a mild tendency to vegetarianism. It is rich in fiber and antioxidant substances. The alkaline diet is aimed at improving the body, and not on weight loss, but practice shows that losing extra pounds lose almost every.
